A great place to grab coffee and delicious pastries! The line out the door may deter you from stopping in, but it moves by quickly. The two coffees we purchased also were good roasts, and affordable for pricing. I did hear other customers get asked if they wanted their chocolate croissant warmed up, but we didnt get that offer should you want to have it that way. Overall a good experience and great food

This location is so nice and just a pleasant place to come with friends and family. Whenever my husband and I are in town visiting his grandpa (who loves Companion), we always stop here and take home a loaf (or two hehe) of the rye bread! The best is Annie's rye, but if they run out the regular rye is really dense and yummy too! (And the best is when they have the day old loaves for half the price!!) This time we tried the blueberry buckwheat (scones?), and a slice of the carrot loaf and banana nut loaf. The girl helping us even threw in two more scones for free (because they were broken and couldn't be sold). Everything was super yummy, and I will always come back here if I'm in Santa Cruz!

Big bread girlie here so I had to stop and try this bakery. A true bread lovers DREAM! You walk in to a full case and wall of freshly baked bread. They had so many to choose from, I went with an extra sour sourdough. A really solid bread! We spread a bit of butter on top and it was the perfect snack. The shop has very interesting and fun merch, such as candles that look like fruits, quirky cards, and plenty of items to help people start their personal bread journeys at home. I make sourdough at home and thought I had everything I needed but I picked up a few cool pieces that will help with my bread at home. The cashiers were also super helpful in guiding me to pick the perfect bread, they have a list which has all the bread ingredients as well if reading them helps you out. I came on a quiet rainy day, and it wasn't too packed but still bit of a hassle to find parking, that would be the only small downside.

Anytime I'm in Santa Cruz I have to stop in for a goat horn. It's my absolute favorite bread. Toasted or not, it's a stand alone decadent treat. Good coffee as well!

As you walk by you can smell the fresh baked breads and it sucks you inside. Nice selection of baked goods. We bought the daily special, which was a chocolate bread and the family reviews were mixed. Most liked it, but not everyone. Same with the seed bread. They have something for everyone, just gotta find your like.

Food (3.6/5): I had the banana date walnut bread and it was just okay. Not very moist but not dry either - the flavor was a bit underwhelming as well. It was an unmemorable banana bread for me. Service (4.3/5): The staff seemed very nice! I was torn between the coffee cake and banana bread--I asked which one was less sweet and they recommended the banana bread over the coffee cake for less sweet. I'm glad I chose the banana bread because even that tasted a little sweet to me. Ambiance (4.5/5): It's a cute little shop and next door it seems like workshops and activities are hosted. Good vibe to the place.

Quick take: cute shop I ordered the vegetarian frittata and it was delicious. I really liked the matcha latte with oat milk as well. Super cute shop with a lot of pastries and fresh bread. Nice flower arrangements for sale.
